As many people already know most food products are sold in "family" sized package. Living as a bachelor I was constantly throwing away stale dry goods such as various cereals, pastas, and coffee due to lack of use. Thinking of all the food, not to mention Money, that was being wasted I decided to search for a cost effective solution. Earlier when I was having the same trouble with frozen foods and meats I researched several of the food vacuum sealers. I was appalled by the price of most and wasn't sure cost would balance out over time. I then happened to see the Rival Seal-a-Meal. It was very reasonably priced so I thought I would give it a whirl. I was so pleased with this product and how fresh it kept my perishable goods. After owning this product for a while I realized there must be an answer to the dry goods problem and after a little searching various retailers I found the Accessory Canisters that match my unit. I actually keep 3 sets of these full at all the time with things I use very often. I have yet to get a "bad seal" from any of the canisters and have left items up to 3 weeks with out having the seal go "bad". I recommend these canisters to anyone who wants to keep their dry goods from going stale and wasting money.

If you?re into time-saving cooking and shopping tricks, such as doubling a recipe for several days? worth of dinners or buying snacks or cereal in bulk to reduce shopping time, store food properly in these airtight canisters. Compatible with Rival?s Seal-A-Meal vacuum food sealer, this set comes with an accessory sealer, hose, and three storage canisters. When used with the main vacuum food sealer (sold separately), these accessories will provide an airtight seal to keep leftovers or treats fresher longer. To operate, one end of the hose goes into the universal sealer while the other attaches to the Seal-A-Meal vacuum sealer. The universal sealer goes over the top of the canister?s lid and turning on the Seal-A-Meal vacuum sealer sucks all air out of the food container. The process works on the included ¾-quart, 1-1/2-quart, and 2-1/2-quart canisters for sealing leftover soups and casseroles or storing uncooked pasta or dried fruits, and also works on Mason jars for making jams or pickling.
