Bigger than it looks, this little gem of a fondue maker would make a great gift for college students. Why? Not because you can expect your son or daughter to suddenly become a suave sophisticate who entertains their fellow dorm buddies with fondue parties, but because this little gadget really cooks! Takes up less space than a microwave (ok, it won't make popcorn, but microwave popcorn isn't all that good for you anyway...) Remove the fondue ring and it becomes a versatile little pot that, with a little imagination, can cook virtually anything. The adjustable thermostat heats up to 400 degrees, so making soup, chili, hamburgers, grilled cheese, ramen noodles and all their other favorites would be easy. Plus, there's the mom approved break-away safety electrical cord. The non-stick interior makes clean up a breeze.Customer Review: Great for the price!

I bought this around 2 years ago after a craving during finals. For being a flippant purchase, it has really served me incredibly well during the time that I've had it. It's super easy to clean, and great for chocolate or cheese, or just keeping soup warm for serving at the table. The only complaint I have about it is that the screws that hold onto the legs have the tendency to come loose, but hey, I just tighten them back with some needle nose pliers and keep on trucking. It makes working with chocolate for confections a ton easier (no more worrying about condensation from a double-boiler)and really has been worth every penny.Customer Review: Nifty

This nifty gadget helps my family and I to enjoy quality time together. Although the meals can be quite long, the novelty of the pot itself keeps my children spellbound. We have enjoyed trying many different food items, including potatoes, grapes, and seaweed. Yummy! I urge everyone to try out this nifty fondue pot for simple family gatherings or a nifty party. ... And I had those for 15 and 20 years. Last year one finally stopped getting as hot as it used to (and as hot as the other one), so I bought two at Target today. They have a $24.99 special this week and you get a $5 gift card too. What a deal!
We also have fondue for Christmas Eve... a great tradition that everyone loves, and god forbid I suggest we have something else! It's nice to have several pots so that the transition from cheese to broth/oil to chocolate is simpler.

I've purchased the open flame style fondue pots before and have always been dissapointed. This electric pot makes fondue easier and lots more fun! I never have to worry about running out of gel fuel in the middle of eating. I don't have to wait 10 minutes for the boullion to boil. I don't have to melt the cheese in a pot on the stove before transferring it to the pot. It does it all, and it's amazingly easy to clean. This is a great product. I highly reccomend it.
