Always wanted one of these appliances, but refused to spend $100+ for one. Bought this one on sale and am very happy with it. Seals great with a heavy "seal",and gives just the right amount of vacuum.
You MUST pay attention to the instructions. If you just close the lid without doing so, you will have problems with getting a tight seal. You must remember that this is a "it seals or it doesn't seal thing.
Unit is well made and you get a nice manual with it.
Have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of freezer burned meat in the past. With todays food prices, this is a big deal.
Plus for all of you hikers, bikers, campers. This unit is great for sealing your extra socks,T shirts, undies, etc from the elements. Anyone that has put on a wet pair of socks after hiking knows what I mean.
But as I said, you must pay attention to the instructions. If you press down on the unit when it is sealing as instructed, it makes a perfect seal.
